1. Pre-Pleating the Pallu

1. Spread the pallu on a flat surface.
2. Start pleating from the end toward the inside, keeping pleats 4–5 inches wide.
3. Align all pleats neatly and pin them at the top.
4. Iron gently to set the pleats.
5. When draping, simply place the pinned pallu on your shoulder.

2. Pre-Pleating the Front Pleats (Skirt Pleats)

1. Hold the saree from the point where pleats start (usually after tucking around once).
2. Make 6–8 pleats of equal width (approx. 4–5 inches).
3. Align the top edges and bottom borders.
4. Secure with a pin at the top.
5. When draping, tuck this pre-pleated section directly into the waistband.

🌼 Box Folding Method (For Storing the Saree)

Box folding helps store sarees in a compact, wrinkle-free way — especially silk, organza, and Kanchipuram sarees.

Steps:

1. Spread the saree fully on a bed or flat surface.
2. Fold the saree in half lengthwise (pallu meeting the opposite end).
3. Fold again lengthwise until the width becomes about 12–14 inches.
4. Now start folding in box folds:
   • Fold one section inward.
   • Fold the next section outward.
   • Continue alternating until the entire saree is folded.
5. Place the folded saree in a saree box or breathable muslin cloth.
